This is a six week handbuilding class focusing on using colored clay and slabs to make forms. The way the clays are stacked and joined will result in various patterns. Nerikomi is the Japanese term for working with colored clay but there are also other similar methods including agateware, murrini, and neriage. Experience working with clay is highly reccomended. .

We will be making our own colored clay by mixing mason stains directly into porcelain clay. Gloves, masks, and safe working procedures will be provided.
