What Makes Mouse a Boutique Studio?
At Mouse we pride ourselves on speedy kiln turn around time, we get your pieces fired quickly and carefully! Our knowledgeable staff will listen to your concerns and troubleshoot issues pertaining to glaze fit and thermal expansion including the specific concerns of firing larger work. As long as work is 3/4 of an inch or less in thickness and made from well-wedged clay, breakage and explosions will rarely if ever occur no matter how large and heavy the work is. At Mouse we like to get to know all of our members and students so they feel as if they are coming into a supportive environment that helps them develop creatively and fosters a sense of community.
Members enjoy a semi-private space in the rear of the studio looking out into the backyard. The membership area has potters wheels, shelves and a handbuilding bar. There is also a studio table for members in the main studio. Members have access to all of the facilities including the classroom during open studio hours. Each member gets a shelf area of approximately 35”x12”x28” (l x w x h) which includes two shelves. Depending on the size of member work some may require more shelves, members can buy additional shelves for a one time fee (4-6 shelf maximum).
Open Studio Membership
Open studio membership allows the open studio member to work in the studio during open studio hours only (see below) and are not required to be enrolled in a class. Open studio members use the classroom wheels and handbuilding table at a first come, first served basis. Open studio members share a communal shelf area with other members, space is available on a first come, first served basis. The open studio hours are subject to change and the studio is closed for major holidays, interim cleanings, and private events.
